The Placeholders is a visual book made from photographs of Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo, thought to be the world’s most populated intersection. A photograph was made from the hip with every step taken while crossing the street in Shibuya. Drawings were made from the photographs and photo animations of events documented in other places were collaged into the clothing areas of all the bodies in motion.
